Swedish icebreaker AGB Njord 1969-2000 and Canadian cruise ships Polar Star 2000-

Built by Hietalahti shipyard, Helsinki, Finland for account of the Swedish Maritime Administration in 1969. Gross register tonnage 3.500 tons and ad Dimensions 86,5 x 21,2 x 6,2 metres. Cruising speed 11 knots. Bought by the Polar Star Expeditions of Karlsen Shipping Company Ltd., Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada and renamed MV Polar Star on 19 May 2000 and used as cruise ship. Hit a rock north of Detaille Island, Antarctic on 3 January 2011 and went tot the Polish research facility Arctowski Station, King George Island part of the South Shetland Islands. Later seized by the Spanish government there to secure payment for the repairs at Las Palmas, Canary Islands. In 2012 still lying in the dry dock of the Astican Shipyard, Las Palmas and in October the same year sold to  Nova Scotia Limited. As the Polar Star Barbados-flagged, homeport Bridgetown, IMO 6905745, MMSI 314125000 and call sign SPPK. As cruise ship summer deadweight 879 tons and gross tonnage 4.998 tons.
