Ordered on 22 November 1984, laid down by chantiers Dubigeon, Nantes, France and completed by chantiers de l’Atlantique on 28 January 1986, launched on 3 October 1986, commissioned on 25 June 1988, decommissioned in 2008 and towed in May 2018 towards Galloo, Ghent, Belgium to be broken up. Built as transport for nuclear tests in French Polynesia by the DIRCEN (Direction des Centres d’Experementen nucléaires). Converted into an electronic intelligence collection ship between December 1998 and July 1999. Crew numbered 72 persons. Armament consisted of 2-12,7mm/0.50 machineguns. Machinery consisted of 2 SACM UD 33V 12M 6 AGO diesels supplying 4.800hp via 2 screws allowing a speed of 15 knots and a range of 6.000 nautical miles with a speed of 15 knots. Dimensions 105,00 (between perpendiculars) 112,78 x 17,0 x 4,34 x 31,50 (air draft) metres and a displacement of 3.600-5.200 (full load) tons. Fitted out with a landing platform with a surface of 470 square metres suitable for 2 heavy Puma helicopters.
