Motor tugs building for the Soviet Reydtanker Steamship Company at Baku, Azerbeidzjan according to a CIA report dated 3 January 1954

An item dealing with so-called stockpiling within the Soviet Union merchant fleet especially the Reydtanker Steamship Company reported the building the building of two  twin screw motor tugs each with a horsepower of 1.200hp by the Baku Ship Repair-Shipbuilding Yard (zavod) imeni Vano Sturua to be completed between 1952-1954. Hull and superstructures was made of steel. On deck ware 4,5cm gun foundations and on the spardeck anti aircraft foundations provided. Supervisor during the whole building was captain of the Maritime Fleet 3rd rank Sevin. The concept of stockpiling was that times of war the tugs within short notice could wholly/partially serve as military transport/auxiliary vessel without needing specially additional refitting.
