Latvian Riga Ship Repair Shipbuilding Yard (Zavod) building150hp tugs for the Soviet Union according to a CIA report dated 3 January 1954

An item dealing with so-called stockpiling within the Soviet Union merchant fleet especially the Reydtanker Steamship Company reported the building by the Riga Ship Repair Shipbuilding Yard (Zavod) of the identical 150hp tugs Burun and the RB-149, 150, 152 and 153. Hulls and superstructures were steel made. The concept of stockpiling was that times of war the tugs within short notice could wholly/partially serve as military transport/auxiliary vessel without needing specially additional refitting.
