Russian anti submarine chasers sighted at Lepaya, Latvia according to a CIA report dated 29 May 1953

An item reported that the Russian anti submarine chaser of the Kronshtadt class (1) or Bolshoy Okhotnik (BO) were known as the Big Hunters in contrary to the MO or Malyj Okhotnik (2) which were called the Small Hunters.

1. TheProject122bis submarine chasers were Kronshtadt-class called by the NATO and of which 227 were built between 1945-1955 including for the navies of Cuba, Albania, Bulgaria, China, Indonesia and Poland. Preceded by the SO1 class and succeeded by the Poti class corvettes. Displacement 289 (standard I series)-302 (standard II series)-325/337,7 (full load) tons.
2. The MO or Malyj Okhotnik submarines chasers built between 1935-1945 in large numbers had a displacement of 50,6 (standard)-56,5 (full load) tons and were succeeded by the OD200-class.
