American cruiser USS Marblehead collided with cargo ship Evansville according to the Dutch newspaper De Maasbode dated 16 November 1929


An item dated New York, USA 15th reported that that an American battleship collided that morning around 25 miles from Nantucket with the cargo ship Evansville. A second item reported that the Marblehead (1) reported that she suffered just minor damage. The bow of the Evansville underway from Boston towards New York was pushed inward. Both ships were able to continue their voyage and needed none assistance.
