Soviet destroyer Z-8 sighted at Rostock, East Germany according to a CIA report dated 2 November 1950

An item reported that the Soviet destroyer Z-8 departed on 26 June 1950 from the Neptun Shipyard, Rostock, East Germany for executing her trials while returning on 1 July. Informants stated that she achieved a maximum speed of 36 knots. The main labour to be done for her completion was on her turbines. Expected was she could be handed over to the Soviet Navy in begin August 1950. She was fuel oil bunkered by the tanker Epuslan (1) which left the harbour on 24 June.

1. In a note was stated that a tanker named Eruslan or Epuslan was unknown.
