The Polish Soldek-class colliers according to a CIA report dated 15 November 1954

An item reported that under the Polish Six Year plan 29 vessels of the Polish Soldek-class colliers were to be constructed. In 1948 was at Socznia Gdanska started with the first ship and in 1954 were still vessels of this type built. In the meantime was the design to be modified. The first seven vessels had a deadweight of 2.540 tons and were handed over to the Polish merchant ship. In Polish service were the Soldek (2.005 gross register tons), Jednosc Rbotnicza (2.003), Brygada Makowskiego (1.946), Marchlewski (1.944), Pstrowsaki (2.003) and Jozef Wieczorek (2.003).

The eight and next vessels had an increased deadweight of 2.620 tons and a gross register tonnage varying between 1.946-1.989 ton and were to be delivered to the Soviet Union. Already were handed over the Pervomaysk, Zaporpzhýe, Krivoy Rog, Zlatoust, Kurgan, Pavlodar, Kramatorsk, Makeyevka, Gorlovka, Novoshakhtinsk, Solikamsk, Minusink, Nikitovka, Yenakiyevo, Volnovakha, Novoxherkassk and Tavda.

Dimensions 280.44 x 40.44 x 19.02 (depth) feet and fitted out with coal fuelled Lentz 1.300hp/125 rpm reciprocating engines made by Huta Zgoda and Fabryka Maszyn Ciezkich, Elblag, Poland. The boilers for the first vessels were manufactured in England, later were Polish made boilers used.
