Built by Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company, Newport News, Virginia, USA with hull number 468 in 1948. New owner became E.O. Sanchez in 1967 and taken in service by Great Lakes Baarge Ltd., since 1981 of A.B. McLean Ltd and since 1994 of Purvis Marine Ltd., Ontario, Canada.
