French gunboat Achéron visited Sabang, Dutch East Indies between 17-19 April 1900.

The Dutch newspaper De Locomotief dated 18 April 1901 reported her visiting Poeloe Weh for bunkering coal and described her as a gunboat.(1)

Note
1. The coal bunker station at Sabang was used by Dutch an d foreign war and merchant ships. Part of the Achéron-class armoured gunboats consisting of the Achéron, Cocyte, Phlégéton and Styx, laid down by Arsenal de Cherbourg, France in November 1883, launched on 23 April 1885, completed in February 1888 and stricken in 1913.
