The forward cargo part was built by the American Shipbuilding Co., Toledo, Ohio, USA and the aft part by the Amship yard, Lorain, Ohio. Both parts were assembled at the last part and launched on 8 May 1980. Christened on 4 June 1980. Dimensions 1004.00 x 105.00 x 56.00 x 26 (light)-32 (load) x 124.5 (height) feet or l x b x dr =306 x 34 x 7,5 metres, gross tonnage 34.630 tons and a summer deadweight of 75.187. Horsepower 19.600 hp allowing a service speed of 14,75 knots. Fitted out with a 54 foot long transverse shuttle boom for self discharging her load from her 5 holds.
