British light cruiser HMS Falmouth launched according to the magazine Mitteilungen aus dem Gebiete des Seewesens dated 1911 No. 11

An item reported the launching of the British cruiser 2nd class HMS Falmouth at the shipyard of Messrs. William Beardmore and Co., Dalmuir along the Clyde, Scotland on 20 September[1910]. She was laid down on 21 February and launched within 9 months. Her predecessor was the Bristol-class with an armament of 2-15cm and 10-10cm guns against the 8-15cm guns of the Falmouth. With a similar length between the perpendiculars of 131 metres was the Falmouth beam 15.5 against the 14.9 feet of the Bristol-class resulting in a larger displacement of 5.250 tons. The machinery consisted pf Parsons turbines resulting in a design speed of 25 knots.(1)

1.  Of the town-class light cruisers Weymouth sub-class, succeeded by Arethusa-class. Commissioned in September 1911 and sunk by the German submarine on 19 August 1916 off Flamborough Head, Yorkshire.
