The catch results of German Greenland whalers according to the Dutch newspaper Leydse courant dated 24 July 1807

An item referred to a letter dated Hamburg, Germany 14th arrived on the Elbe on 1 July commandeur D. Köser of Hamburg, Germany leaving 28 June Greenland with a catch of 200 quardelen. He reported also the catches for other German whalers. For Hamburg R.J. Ney 9 whales, J. Waller 12 whales, J.P. Litzen 1 whale and 6 quardelen, totally 80 quardelen, C.H. Pieters 15 quardelen and O. Bohn 1 whale. For Altona B. Meinerts 60 quardelen, 6 whales, J. Schmidt 5 whales, Kausch 3 whales, 50 quardelen, S. Adrians 3 whales and L. Petersen 5 whales and 40 quardelen en finally for Glückstadt J. Schmidt 80 quardelen.
