A report dated 9 February 1944 sent by the Mar. Verbindingsoffizier beim Hafenkommandanten Konstanza to the Kommando 10. Sicheringsdivisie at Constantza, Romania described the available tugs in the harbour over there. The small German tug Sip until then used for sea service was since months under repair. She had to be ready on 1 January but week after week was her recommissioning delayed while again and again new engine damage was discovered. Maureb asked for weeks for completing her.
