British Royal navy captured Spanish frigates El Thetis and Santa Brigada according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haerlemsche courant dated 12 November 1799

An item reported that two seized Spanish galleons were brought into Plymouth, England. The first was the 44 guns-frigate El Thetis (1), a crew of 300 sailors and coming from Havana, Cuba bound for Ferrol, Spain with 1.5 million dollars cash and a cargo of consisting of sugar, cacao, coffee, skins and so on. The  second ship was the 42 gun frigate Santa Brigada (2) with a crew numbering 320 men. She was loaded with 2-3 million dollars, cochineal, ivory, sugar and so on. The Spanish frigates were near the harbour of Ferrol captured by the British 32 gun frigates Triton, Najade and Alkmene.
