Former German Rhein-class tender Donau (A69), launched at Schlichting Werft, Lübeck-Travemünde on 26 November 1960, commissioned on 23 May 1964 , decommissioned on 1 December 1994 and handed over to Turkey on 13 March 1995 and became a cadet training ship. Technical details while tender Donau: displacement of 2.940 tons and as dimensions 98,2 x 11,8 x 4,7 metres. Crew numbered 132 men. The 6 Maybach diesels supplied 14.400 hp via two shafts allowing a speed of 20 knots. Armament consisted of 2-10cm L/55 Creusot-Loire dual purpose guns, 4-4cm Bofors canon, 2 depth charges and able to lay mines. In Turkish service accommodation for 40 officers and 170 enlisted men.
