Spanish galleon Santissimo Trinidad captured according to the Dutch newspaper Middelburgsche courant dated 3 May 1763

An item dated London, England 22 April supplied more details about the siege of Manila, Philippines and the capture of fort Cavite by the British. In the harbour of Cavite werden some large Spanish captured. On 25 September was in the bay of Manila a Spanish 2-decker, 17 swivels and 80 men captured which was sent by the galleon St.Philippine coming from Acapulco and left begin on 10 April near Cape Spirito Sancto. The British admiral sent the 60- gun Panther and the frigate Argo to search for her returning on 6 October with a prize. Which was not the St. Philippine by the Santissimo Trinidad with 800 persons on board and pierced for 60 guns. Her value was yet not known but she had a cargo of estimated 3 million and further more 1.500.00 dollars of pieces of eight on board.
