Catch results of French and Spanish Davis Strait whalers according to the Dutch newspaper Leydse courant dated 3 September 1728

An item dated Passage, Spain 17 August reported the arrival 2 days earlier of captain Miguel Ignacio who left the the Davis Strait on 23 June. He possessed a list of the catch results. The 26 ships of Passage, 3 of Bayonne and 3 of St. Sebastiaan captured in the Davis Strait 74 whales, one cachelot and 9 so-called ‘Sardes’ (North Atlantic right whales).
