French Greenland whalers returning according to the Dutch newspaper Oprechte Haerlemsche courant dated 16 September 1688

An item dated Amsterdam, Netherlands 15 September reported the arrival at St. Sebastian, Spain of the Greenland whaler St. Joseph with 23 whales, 660 barrels whale oil, the l’Imperiale and another French Greenland whaler. Furthermore was the arrival of the commandeurs Claes Bil 6 whales 260 quardelen blubber, Sybrant Blom 4,5 whale and Cornelis Reynen 3,5 whale, a Basque with 4 whales and commandeur Pieter Sara with his nice ship reported.
