An item dated Bremen, Germany 14th reported the arrival on the 12th of commandeur A. Haake returning from Greenland with a catch of 2 whales and 8.500 seals. He brought with him tidings of other commandeurs and their catches, namely Harm Haaks 2.700 seals, Johan Haake 3.200 seals, H. Westermeijer 2.300 seals, one whale and 25 barrels and B. Vennekohl 880 seals, all coming from Bremen. The whale and seal hunters of the Elbe area had a total catch of 15.100 seals and 11 whales while British ships had a totally catch of 126 whales.
