American whaling ship Bengal visited Honolulu, Hawaii according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 8 August 1846

An item reported the arrival at Honolulu, Hawaii on 4 August of the American whaling ship Bengal captain Frink of New London, USA 2,300 barrels whale oil 28 days from the north west coast. On board was the crew of the American whaler Baltic captain Butler of Fair Haven lost on 16 June of Bhering’s Island. Of her cargo of 2,000 barrels oil was just 750 barrels, bought by Frink for 75 cents/barrel.
