Italian cruiser Liguria underway from the Netherlands towards England according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 18 May 1899

An item dated Maassluis, Netherlands 17^th reported that the Italian cruiser Liguria was lying in the roads waiting for the rough weather to improve.(1) She was underway from Amsterdam, Netherlands towards Portland, England. The edition dated 19^th reported the departure of the Liguria and the [Dutch merchant] Hispania on the 18^th.

Of the Regioni-class protected cruisers, consisting of the Umbria, Lombardia, Etruria, Liguria, Elba and Puglia, preceded by the Piemonte and succeeded by the Calabria, laid down by Ansaldo, Genoa, Italy on 1 July 1889, launched on 8 June 1893, completed on 1 December 1894 and sold to be broken up on 15 May 1920.
