An item referred to the semi officially statement at Copenhagen, Denmark reporting that the Danish cruiser Fijen with on board prince Wademar would visit with as solely purpose to improve the Danish trading position in China.(1)

1. Unprotected cruiser. Laid down at Orlogsvaerftet, Copenhagen, Denmark on 4 March 1881, launched on 27 September 1882, completed in 1884 and became an accommodation ship in 1907. Sold in 1962 to be broken up on 19 October 1962. Also called a cruiser frigate of the Niels Juel-class. Especially built for service in the Danish West Indies.
