The Dutch newspaper De Tijd dated 22 May 1907 reported the public auction at 11.00 o’clock at the navy yard at Amsterdam, Netherlands on Thursday 6 June 1907 of the stricken monitor Luipaard. Another Dutch newspaper Algemeen Handelsblad dated 7 June reported that she was sold for ƒ 37.040,00 to the Scheepsslooperij voorheen F. van Reijsingh, Hendrik-Ido-Ambacht, Netherlands to be broken up. Call sign GQMD. Displacement 1.525 tons and as dimensions 56.76-59.56 x 13.40 c 2.95 metres. The steam engines supplied vuua 2 screws 680 ihp allowing a speed of 7.5 miles. Coal bunker capacity 75 tons. Armament consisted of 1-28cm gun A 1-7,5cm gun, 2-3,7cm guns and 2-3,7cm revolver guns. Crew numbered 113-134 men. Armour consisted of a 11,4-14cm thick belt, a 1,9-2,5cm thick deck with the gun turret and conning tower protected by respectively 20,3-28cm and 14cm thick armour. Iron built. Costs when first fitted out ƒ 920.343,00. Built for the defence of the tidal inlets.
