Russian salvage steam ship General Major Klokatchoff visited Nieuwediep, Netherlands according to the Dutch newspaper Rotterdamsch nieuwsblad dated 2 January 1901

An item dated Niewediep, Netherlands reported that the Russian salvage steam ship General Major Klokatchoff underway from Kiel, Germany towards Sevastopol [Ukraine] entered the harbour with storm damage and the loss of anchor and chain. The Dutch newspaper Texelsche Courant dated 6 January 1900 supplied more details. She was behind the lighthouse of Eierland, Texel, Netherlands hit by a large gulf and with her cabin and engine room filled with water were her fires extinguished. The Dutch tug Titan towed her to the Nieuwediep. She was slightly damaged and lost indeed her anchor and chain
