An item referred to the summary No. 153 dated 12 May 1942 reporting that enemy aircraft attacking shipping between Tobruk, Libya and Alexandria, Egypt destroyed 3 British destroyers and a hospital ship.(1)
Note
1. British destroyers HMS Jackal, Kipling and Lively, stationed at Alexandria went to Benghazi without air cover, were sighted and attacked while returning north of Sidi Barrani by German Ju88s. The last two were in the evening sunk of 11 May with the Jackal scuttled next morning.
