Seal hunters off Newfound successful according to the Dutch newspaper Het nieuws van den dag dated 3 April 1884

An item reported that the results of the seal hunters active that year at Newfoundland was very prosperous. The steamship Aurora of Dundee, Scotland arrived with a catch of d 28.000 seals at St. John’s, Newfoundland and the ships from Liverpool, England the Falcon, Neptune and Hector had also full cargo holds. The four ships had at least for 60.000 pound sterling value caught.
