An item reported the arrival on 30 January in the Table Bay, South Africa of the American whaler General Pike master J. Dexter which left New Bedford, Massachusetts, USA on 20 May 1835 on a whaling cruise. Put in for refreshments. Agent was US consul Isaac Chase. Loaded with 1.500 barrels oil.
