American whaler Henry Thompson visited South Africa according to the The Cape of Good Hope Almanac and Annual Register for 1846

An item reported the arrival in the Table Bay on 19 December 1844 by the American whaler Henry Thompson with a tonnage of 315tons, master J. Andrews, coming from New London on 11 September and departing on 22 December.
