American whaler William Penn wrecked according to the newspaper The Polynesian dated 19 February 1848

An item reported that the American whaler William Penn master Wimpenny of Falmouth was wrecked at Waitatuck, Harvy Islands in begin December 1847 and lost. Of her cargo of 100 barrels sperm oil and 1.400 barrels whale oil was around 1.100 barrels oil salvaged. Her crew survived the disaster.
