American whaling bark Leander visited South Africa according to the The Cape of Good Hope Almanac and Annual Register for 1846

The New Pictorial and Illustrated Family Magazine established for the diffusion of useful knowledge, 

vol. III. Robert Sears editor, New York 1846.

An item reported the arrival in the Table Bay on 23 March 1845 by the American whaling bark Leander with a tonnage of 212 tons, master J.A. Avery, coming from the Crozetts on 25 February and departing on 28 March.
