American whaling brig Penobscot visited South Africa according to the The Cape of Good Hope Almanac and Annual Register for 1846

An item reported the arrival in the Simon’s Bay on 16 January 1845 by the American whaling brig Penobscot with a tonnage of 150 tons, master R. Kelley, coming from whaling.
