South African House of Assembly struggling with Union naval contribution according to the Secret Admiralty Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 3 dated 24 July 1920

An item reported general Hertzog (1) presented in the South African House of Assembly an amendment to delete the naval contribution of 85.000 pound sterling to the Union. The estimates were approved when the amendment was withdrawn.
