Leander-class
An item reported that the Chinese 5.270 ton cruiser Chungking deserted to the Communists. She was a gift of the British Royal Navy to the Chinese navy. (1)

HMS Aurora of the Arethusa-class light cruisers, preceded by Leander-class, succeeded by Dido and Town classes, laid down by Portsmouth Dockyard, England on 27 July 1935, launched on 20 August 1936, commissioned on 1 November 1937, decommissioned in April 1946, sold to China on 19 May 1948, renamed Chung Kung, deserted to the Communists on 25 February 1949 where she became the Tchoing King, in 1951 Huang He and Pei Ching and finally Kuang Chou and in service until mid 1950s.
