British block ship HMS Thetis salvaged at Zeebrugge, Belgium according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 2 dated 15 January 1921

Apollo 2nd class protected cruisers

An item reported that finally the entrance to the harbour of Zeebrugge, Belgium was cleared on 11 January. Under supervision of the British commodore Sir Frederick W. Young was the wreck of the Thetis lifted and moved.(1)

Note

1. Apollo 2nd class protected cruiser, preceded by Pearl-class, succeeded by Astraea-class, laid down by J&G Thomson, Clydebank, Scotland on 29 October 1889, launched on 13 December 1890, commissioned in April 1892, sunk as block ship in the so-called Zeebrugge Raid on 23 April 1918.
