An item dated Mongonui 23 January reported the arrival of the American whaler Jireh Swift, ship, 454 tons, master Earl of New Bedford 29 months out, with 1,500 barrels whale oil 500 barrels sperm oil 30,000 lbs bone arrived on 31 December and ddeparted on 3 January.
