Norwegian shipping companies planning building nuclear propelled tanker according to the Dutch newspaper Nieuwsblad van het Noorden dated 1 February 1957

An item reported that six of the major Norwegian shipping companies were interested in founding a consortium for financing the building of a giant nuclear tanker which possible could be launched in 1963. The Provinciale Drentsche and Asser courant dated 2 February reported that the consortium spoke the Dutch-Norwegian Institute for nuclear research at Kjeller.The Tijd dated 1 February mentioned that banks and shippingcompanies wanted to found a Norwegian company for using industrial nuclear energy (Noratom) planning to built a 100,000 tons nuclear tanker. The Het Rotterdams parool 21 October 1958 mentioned that the institute at Kjeller sudied a nuclear tanker project, costs 1,500,000 million guilders on behalf of Rederiatom.
