Japanese transport submarines HA-101, HA-109 and HA-411 built in 1944

Displacement of 370 (standard)-428 (normal)- 492 (submerged (tons) and as dimensions 44.5 x 6.1 x 4.04 metres. Submerged endurance 20 hours/2.3 knots. Submergence depth 100 meters. Submergence time 50 seconds. Crew numbered 42 men including 6 officers. Speed 10 (surfaced)-5 (submerged) knots. None torpedo tubes. 3,400 AH-120 cells-240 volts battery. 1-6 cylinder four cycle direct drive engine. The welded hull was made of medium steel of 13mm and fitted out with saddle tanks. Range 3,000 nautical miles/10 knots and 4,000 nautical miles/8 knots. Cargo capacity 80 tons limited by density. Fitted out with 1-1/2X type 88 six meter 10X periscope. The vents and floods and planes were manually operated, the steering gear electrical. Just like the I-369 were the superstructure and conning tower fairwater plating sloped as an anti-radar measure. The HA-108 was able to carry 10-18” torpedoes with her stored in the superstructure, 2x4 layers for the conning tower 2 aft over the engine room. Using a portable tripod hoist at the stern could the bow of a Kory be lifted to be able to reload the torpedoes. Vents and floods were manual operated just like the planes. The steering was electrical. The superstructure amd conning tower fairwater plating were sloped similar to the I-369 to act as an anti-radar measure.
