Laid down by Russell&Co.’s Kingston Yard, Port Glasgow, Scotland with yard number 551 for account of the Union Austriaca di Navigazione, Trieste, Austria in 1905, launched in 1906 and christened Ida, seized by the USA, handed over to the US Shipping Board on 6 May 1917, sold to the Polish American Navigation Corporation and renamed Pulaski in 1920, resold in 1922 and renamed Ida, resold in 1924 and renamed Ida Maru, resold and renamed Risshun Maru, renamed Rissyun Marin 1939, requisitione dby the Japanese Imperial Army on 10 November 1941 and became the IJA No. 56, returned to owners on 25 April 1943 and sunk during an American air attack on Manilla, Philippines on 21 September 1944.
Gross tonnage 4,414 tons, under deck 4,077 tons, net 2,753 tons, deadweight 7,220 tons and as dimensions 370.3 x 49.8 x 192. x 8 (light)-24’4” (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion supplying 400 nhp via one screw allowing a speed of 9.5 (cruising)-10 (maximum) knots. With a coal bunker capacity of 1.000 tons a range of 9,100 miles/9.5 knots.
