British light cruisers HMS Southampton, Comus and Caroline visiting Burma according to the Weekly Intelligence Summary No. 19 for the week ending 27 August 1921

An item reported that the British light cruisers HMS Southampton (flagship) (1), Comus (2) and Caroline (3) planned to depart from Trincomalee on or about 10 September bound for Rangoon, Burman underway visiting Port Blair with the Caroline to visit Moulmein. The squadron would return to Ceylon on 7 October.

1. Part of Town-class Chatham sub-class light cruisers, succeeded by Arethusa-class, laid down by John Brown&Company, Clydebank shipyard, Scotland on 6 April 1911, launched on 16 May 1912, commissioned in November 1912 and sold to be broken up on 13 July 1926.

2. Part of the C-class light cruisers sub-class Caroline consisting of the Caroline, Carysfort, Cleopatra, Comus, Conquest and Cordelia, preceded by the Arethusa-class and succeeded by the Danae-class. Laid down by Swan Hunter, Wallsend-on-Tyne, England on 13 November 1913, launched on 16 December 1914, completed in May 1915, commissioned on 15 May 1915, decommissioned on December 1924, decommissioned in September 1925, decommissioned in December 1933 and sold to Thos W. Ward, Barrow-in-Furness, England be broken up on 28 July 1934

3. Part of C-class Caroline sub-class light cruisers, preceded by Arethusa-class, succeeded by Danae-class, laid down by Cammell Laird on 28 January 1914, launched on 29 September 1914, completed in December 1914, commissioned on 4 December 1914, for the last time decommissioned on 31 March 2011. Still existing as museum ship.
