An item reported that on 16 June 1964 the Japanese Fisheries Agency allowed the newbuilding of totally 21 fishing vessels: 8 wood-built totally 378 gross tons, 11 steel built totally 6,931 gross tons. The vessels included 1-999 tons steel built trawler, 2-2,530 tons fish carriers, 2-99 tons tuna long-liners, 1-499 ton potbale-boot-carrying-tuna mothership and 1-19 tons portable boat.
