Stern trawlers built in New Zealand according to the Commercial Fisheries Review dated October 1964 No. 10

An item reported that a New Zealand company built at Auckland, New Zealand 2-70 foot stern trawlers, costs each 35,000 NZE pound/97,000 US dollars and a crew of 3 men including the skipper. Totally 3 small stern trawlers were built. Except for normal trawling wanted one fishing company to start an experiment with shrimp, tuna and line fishing and with another company interested in buying 2 similar stern tarwlers abroad. Both new trawlers for the first company were identical with a storage of 40 metric tons. The ordinary trawlers had just 20-25 metric tons storage.
