Japanese passenger-cargo ship Norfolk Maru 1920-1944

Call sign JCNA. Laid down by Kawasaki Dockyard Co. Ld., Kobe, Japan on 28 October 1920, launched on 23 May 1921, completed on 18 September 1921, controlled and operated by the Senpaku Un eikai since 8 December 1941, requisitioned by the army as the army/civilian Haitosen ship IJA No. 5017 in 1944 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Haddo (SS-255) in the Mindoro Strait, Philippines on 21 August 1944. Gross tonnage 6,576 tons, under deck 6,157 tons, net tonnage 4,020 tons and as dimensions 405.0 x 53.0 x 37.0 x 9 (light)-28 (loaded) feet.
