Japanese tanker (ex-Omrosan Maru 1936-1938) Omurosan Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JGRL. Laid down by Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Ld., Tama on 17 March 1936, launched on 17 October 1936, completed on 15 January 1937, requisitioned by the army on 12 January 1942, transferred to the navy on 1 September 1943, torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Flasher (SS-249(m25 miles east of Quang Ngai, Indo-China [Vietnam] on 22 December 1944 and stricken on 10 February 1945. Gross tonnage 9,205 tons, under deck 8,098 tons, net tonnage 5,288 tons and as dimensions 491.4 x 65.0 x 36.0 x 12.6 (light)-28 (loaded) feet. Diesel propulsion, speed 16 (normal cruising)-20 (maximum) knots, 7,600 hp, single screw, 961rpm/16 knots, 110rpm/20 knots, oil bunker capacity 1,400 tons and arnge 17,000 nautical miles/16 knots
