Japanese cargo ship (ex-Tateshi Maru 1922-1938) Tateisi Maru 1938-1944

Call sign JDIA. Laid down by Yokohama Dock. Co., Yokohama, Japan in end 1922, launched in 1922, delivered in September 1922, reguisitioned by army as troop transport Alloted Army No. 86 August 1937, returned to owners in end 1940, requistioned by the army on 26 November 1941 and lost in an air attack off Jolo Island, Philippines on 4 October 1944. Gross tonnage 3,801 tons, under deck 3,444 tons, net tonnage 2,351 tons and as dimensions x 345.0 x 50.0 x 29.0 x 9 (light)-24 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, singel screw, 342 nhp/3,021 ihp, 1,200 tons coal bunker capacity, range around 12,000 nautical miles/11 knots and speed 11 (normal cruising)-14 (maximum) knots.
