Japanese passenger-cargo ship Clyde Maru 1919-1945

Call sign JCZD. Laid down by Asano Shipbuilding Co., Tsurumi, Japan on 29 October 1919, launched on 16 April 1920, completed on 18 May 1920, requisitioned by the army as Alloted IJA transport No. 554 on 22 November 1941 and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Picuda (SS-382) 40 miles north of Keelung on 29 January 1945. Gross tonnage 5,498 tons, under deck 4,996 tons, net tonnage 3,424 tons and as dimensions 400.000 x 523. x 29,4 x 8 (light)-25.6 (loaded) feet. Reciprocating propulsion, speed 10 (normal cruising)-12 (maximum) knots, 513 nhp, coal bunker capacity 1,726 tons, range 12,000 nautical miles/10 knots, single crew.
