Apparently also called Nichiho Maru and torpedoed and sunk by the American submarine USS Guardfish in the East China Sea on 21 October 1942. Gross tonnage 6,363 tons, under deck 5,586 tons, net tonnage 4,209 tons, deadweight 11,185 tons and as dimensions 439.7 x 56.8 x 29.9 x 8 (light)- 25.3 (loaded) feet. Coal bunker capacity 1,144 tons, range 7,440 nautical miles/10 knots and speed 10 (normal cruising)-11 (maximum) knots.
