Japanese navy scaled search operations in the Northwest Pacific down according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 23 April 1942

An item reported that the search operations by the Japanese navy in the Northwest Pacific seemed to be useless and scaled down with air and surface units resuming their normal activities except for the submarines which remained active.
