Large numbers of Japanese army transports sighted according to the U.S. Joint Intelligence Committee. Daily summary dated 20 April 1942

An item reported in the past few days large numbers of Japanese army transports were sighted in the Far Eastern waters. Around 16 were moving north from Singapore probably to Dairen [Dalian, China]. Around 24 seemed to left Penang [Malaysia] with an unknown destination.
