Italian heavy cruiser Gorizia under repair in November 1941

American naval attaché at Rome, Italy reported in November 1941 that according to an eyewitness the heavy cruiser Gorizia was lying on 20 November under repair at La Spezia although there was no sign of activity on board.(1)

1. Part of Zara-class, preceded by Trento-class succeeded by Bolzano, laid down by O.T.O., Livorno, Italy in March 1930, launched on 28 December 1930, commissioned on 31 December 1931, disabled after an attack by manned torpedoes in 1944 and broken up in 1946.
